Higher cardiorespiratory fitness and greater strength are associated with lower risk of many chronic diseases. Regular physical activity matters across the lifespan.

Exactly how much of each is 'optimal' for longevity — we don't really know yet. Doing a reasonable amount consistently is a safe bet.
