Doing things you're not good at yet
The short version
Being a beginner can be uncomfortable. That's part of learning.
The goal isn't to look experienced. It's to become experienced.
The full version
Beginner stuff is normal
You might use lighter weights, have shaky coordination, not know how the equipment works, feel awkward, or make mistakes. All of that is normal and temporary.
Everyone started there
Every experienced person in the gym, on the field or in the game was inexperienced at some point. Most people are far too focused on their own session to judge yours.
Give it reps
New skills feel awkward until they don't. The awkward phase is the learning phase — keep showing up and it shrinks.
What actually matters
Start lighter than your ego wants, use the exercise guides, and focus on getting a little more comfortable each week.
Key takeaways
- 01Awkward means learning
- 02Everyone started as a beginner
- 03Light weights are fine
- 04Become experienced, don't perform it
